This morning we were featured on the news as not having  taken care of our dogs to the best of our ability. This complaint comes from the person I GAVE an older dog to that had retired as a breeder. These ladies came to the house to purchase a puppy and decided that they liked the older dog. He was given freely and nothing was charged for him. Unknown to us he has Cancer. He was eating and appeared health at the time and we had no knowledge of him having any illness.  My act of giving him to these ladies was to give him a chance at a loving home to live out his remaining years. He is 11 years old.

It had always been our practice to adopt out the older dogs to loving caring homes.

Apr. 10 days ago I adopted out Happy to Ms. Grimes. Ms. Grimes had the dog checked by a vet, where it was discovered that he has cancer. For every ones information the kennel design of the area where my dogs were housed I believe meets the USDA Animal Welfare guidelines. Ms. Grimes personally felt that it should have been designed in a different fashion. Even though I explained to Ms. Grimes  that this keeps the dogs free of ticks and fleas and fire ants for the most part. I went on the explain to her that on good weather these dogs were allowed to run for additional exercise. Unfortunately for me this did not meet her personal preference of housing. Within my home, to provide care 24/7 Of my mother dogs, I have what is called a whelping room (nursery). In this room I can oversee the care for each mother dog and her puppies. Until today I had no knowledge of any complaints filed with local law enforcement.  I had not been contacted by local authorities who would have been welcome to observe my facility. At the time my dogs were removed from my home there were 21 puppies between 2 and 8 weeks of age and 36 adult dogs. To the best of my knowledge the reason why they removed the dogs, ACS stated two puppies might have some eye discharge.
